More proof that the “anti-obesity” movement is a fake movement funded by the food industry. And notice the connection to Kellogg. Read my blog to find the truth about CSPI’s “attack” on Kellogg – a corporate funder of NANA steering committee member American Dietetic Association.

Big Momma Michelle Obama: Food profiteer-turned-food cop
Michelle Malkin
May 12, 2010

Let me summarize first lady Michelle Obama’s anti-obesity agenda: Shed as I say, not as I gain. While she crusades for organic foods and puts government pressure on corporations to stop marketing fast food and junk food to children, Mrs. Obama herself profited from the very same processed food industry she now demonizes.

In June 2005, a few months after her husband was elected to the U.S. Senate, Mrs. Obama hustled a seat on the corporate Board of Directors of TreeHouse Foods, Inc. Despite zero experience, the food-processing company put her on its audit and nominating and corporate governance committees. For her on-the-job training and the privilege of putting her name and face on their literature, the company forked over $45,000 in 2005 and $51,200 in 2006 to Mrs. Obama — as well as 7,500 TreeHouse stock options worth more than $72,000 for each year.

The chairman of the TreeHouse Foods board, Sam K. Reed, was a top executive at Kellogg’s and Keebler Foods, home of that great menace to children, the Keebler Elf. Before that, he headed up Mother’s Cake and Cookie Company. The conglomerate sells cheese saucesCremora non-dairy creamerinstant soup, puddings and powdered soft drink mixes. Hardly the stuff of Mrs. Obama’s new vision of nutritional paradise. TreeHouse is also a leading supplier of pickles used in the burgers of evil fast food chain McDonald’s — exactly the kind of corporate restaurants Mrs. Obama is now targeting in her war on urban “food deserts.”

The corporation-bashing Mrs. Obama would have continued raking in her TreeHouse cash if it hadn’t been for her husband’s pesky pledge to pander to Big Labor and swear off Wal-Mart. The retail giant, you see, happened to be TreeHouse’s biggest customer. And Wal-Mart is to Big Labor as sunshine is to Dracula.

Comment: Yet another example of how the fake “war on obesity” was designed to fail just like the fake “war on drugs” and the fake “war on terrorism”.

McDonald’s, KFC and Pepsi to help write government policy on obesity
Fast food companies including McDonald’s and Kentucky Fried Chicken have been invited by the Department of Health to help write government policy on obesity, alcohol and diet-related disease.
Processed food and drink manufacturers including PepsiCo, Kellogg’s, Unilever, Mars and Diageo are also among the businesses that have been asked to contribute to five ‘responsibility deal’ networks set up by Health Secretary Andrew Lansley.

• Sucralose. Don’t believe the manufacturer’s claim that this sweetener is “natural” or “tastes like sugar since it’s made from sugar.” But also don’t believe the Internet conspiracy theories that it’s toxic; it appears to be safe. Used as a tabletop sweetener (Splenda) and in some baked goods, frozen desserts, and diet soft drinks. Unfortunately, it’s often used with acesulfame.

“Sucralose is safe” is as much a lie as “19 cave-dwelling Islamofascists alone carried out 9/11″, “the air is safe to breathe”, and “corexit is harmless”. Hey CSPI, why don’t you just go full-out and start equating Zoe Harcombe with “truthers” and “birthers” for daring to take the message of “obesity truth” to the mainstream media? The Obesity Truth Movement is showing the whole world that your organization is a fraudulent sham funded by the food industry paid to cover up your funders’ “food 9/11″!

Comment: I never thought I would see the day when mainstream media publishes an article which exposes how the so-called “food police” are in fact funded by the food industry. The American “food police” organization CSPI (Center for Science in the Public Interest, which is pretty much the American counterpart to the British Nutrition Foundation) is a Rockefeller Foundation front group which allows several Monsanto front groups to sit on its National Alliance for Nutrition and Activity (NANA) coalition as steering committee members. One of the Monsanto-funded steering commitee members is the American Dietetic Association, a fake “vegetarian advocacy group” funded by the beef and dairy industries; they are also funded by McDonald’s and Coca-Cola. I congratulate the Daily Mail, Alice Hart-Davis, and Zoe Harcombe for bucking the establishment.

EDIT: I am disappointed that the Daily Mail has decided to cover up the documented facts that aspartame and MSG cause obesity. I posted the following links in a follow-up comment on the original article -

The link between monosodium glutamate (MSG) and obesity

TWO NEW STUDIES ON ASPARTAME AND DIET DRINKS CONFIRM SOURCE OF OBESITY, CANCER/ MALIGNANT BRAIN TUMOR EPIDEMICS. NEUROSURGEON SAYS BAN TOXIN FROM SCHOOLS! -

and apparently they have rejected my follow-up comment. I am disappointed that the Daily Mail has elected to participate in the cover-up of aspartame and MSG. Nevertheless, I applaud the Daily Mail the exposing how the “food police” are in fact glorified food industry front groups.

Everything you thought you knew about food is WRONG

Fibre’s bad for you. Fat’s healthy. And five-a-day is a gimmick to make fruit and veg firms rich. Or so claims a remarkable new book…

We think we know what to eat: less red meat and more fibre, less saturated fat and more fruit and veg, right? Wrong, according to a controversial new book by obesity researcher and nutritionist Zoe Harcombe.

In The Obesity Epidemic: What Caused It? How Can We Stop It? Harcombe charts her meticulous journey of research into studies that underpin dietary advice — and her myth-busting conclusions are startling.

Myth: Food advisory bodies give us sound, impartial advice

the organisations we turn to for advice on food are sponsored by the food industry. The British Dietetic Association (BDA), whose members have a monopoly on delivering Department of Health and NHS dietary advice, is sponsored by Danone, the yoghurt people, and Abbott Nutrition, which manufactures infant formula and energy bars.

The British Nutrition Foundation, founded in 1967 to ‘deliver authoritative, evidence-based information on food and nutrition in the context of health and lifestyle’, has among its ‘sustaining members’ British Sugar plc, Cadbury, Coca-Cola, J Sainsbury PLC and Kraft Foods.

‘When the food and drink industry is so actively embracing public health advice, isn’t it time to wonder how healthy that advice can be?’ says Harcombe.

I tried it for 3 months now. NO changes in my diet other than not using sugar and using truvia. Gained 15 pounds, loads of headaches and neck/shoulder pain. I called Truvia and they told me this was not a side effect, checked the internet and ooooo! I used stevia for years with no side effects, so there is something in this truvia that is no good! Gaining weight seems to be the opposite of what the point was!! Carol K

ALL man-made chemical sweeteners – aspartame, Ace-K, sucralose, and Truvia/PureVia – cause obesity.

The evidence just keeps piling up and exposing the truth that the so-called “anti-obesity crusaders” are in fact shills for the food industry and the banksters who created the obesity epidemic in the first place.

And how ironic that CSPI, which supposedly pushes a vegetarian agenda, is in fact a member of a nutritional advocacy group alongside a food industry front group funded by the meat and dairy industries.

Notice how they use variations of “global” – globalization, global obesity crisis, “Director Global Health, Rockefeller Foundation”, global trade, “global epidemics of obesity and diabetes”, “a global response to a global problem” – to sell the sheeple on a global government to “solve” the obesity “epidemic”, which is really a manufactured crisis created by the Rockefeller Foundation and its many front groups.

Also notice how they claim that “developing” countries are at risk of obesity. So now they can use their manufactured obesity crisis as another excuse to invade the third world and assimilate it into the NWO. But guess what……once the third world gets assimilated, their obesity crises will get worse.

“Consumption Tax on Sweet Beverages
This morning on the Washington Journal on C-Span, Susan Neely of the American Beverage Association (I think) was on to talk about an article she wrote about them Obama Administration’s consideration of a consumption tax on sweet beverages (soda pop – and other).  Because of my prior research on the issue of tax systems and income revenues, I wrote a letter to the American Beverage Association.  The following is my letter:

Dear Sirs,

I watched Susan Neely on C-Span talking about the Administration’s consideration of a consumption tax on sweet beverages. Since your industry is under attack, you are in position to expose the end game of the tax if you understand what’s being done and you should be able to recruit allies to help you in this fight.

The consumption tax on sweet beverages is simply an incremental step toward the conversion of the U.S. tax system to a ‘Goods and Services’ tax on all purchases to harmonize our tax system with Canada’s tax system. The energy tax that is in the ‘carbon cap and trade’ legislation is another step in the incremental approach.

In 2005, Congress held a hearing to discuss the ‘Fair Tax Act of 2005′ (H.R. 25) proposed by Representative John Linder (R-GA). I spent a lot of time on that hearing and wrote a report of what I heard. I recorded it for my own purposes but when the hearing was pulled down from the Committee website, I posted my recordings of the hearing such as they were.

Fair Warning on the Fair Tax
http://www.channelingreality.com/News/fair_warning_on_the_fair_tax.htm

At the time I wrote the above report, I didn’t know about Canada’s Goods and Services Tax and I also didn’t know about the G8 – Global Information Society initiative. But recently when the debate began on health insurance “reform”, I knew what the Blue Dog strategy was really about:

Harmonizing the Tax System
http://www.channelingreality.com/Economic/harmonizing_the_tax_system.htm

It would take pages to explain all of this to you so I’m not even going to try in this email. What I will tell you is that we are losing the sovereignty of this nation by a slow-moving administrative coup d’etat and the change is the tax system is a part of it.

In 2004, the House Budget Committee held a hearing on the U.S. Tax Code’s Impact on Revenue Projections and the Federal Budget. In this hearing, Representative John Spratt (D-SC) said that as of the end of fiscal year 2003, income tax revenues were at their lowest point since 1950. Representative John Linder (R-GA) said there has been 8 quarters in a row of declining revenues since 2001. “There is six trillion dollars offshore”. Obvious to all of the unemployed American citizens and bankrupt retailers, when you export manufacturing (jobs) and white collar technology industries (jobs), you are exporting personal income of the American people AND you are exporting the tax base with them.

Bush Tax Cuts Are Working!?
http://www.channelingreality.com/News/happy_days_are_here_again.htm

With globalization defined as the building of the global fiber optic telecommunications network with Internet capability, the Congress was sold the illusion of an entrepreneurial economy in which everybody would make their living in some way on the Internet – and when the above hearings were held, the impression given was that Congress was told that the lost income tax revenues were because all of the entrepreneurs just weren’t filing their income tax on their Internet derived income. The truth is that the vast majority of jobs that would have been available over the Internet were exported to India where people could be hired for a tenth of what they could be hired here.

So getting back to the consumption tax, the idea is to replace federal income revenue with a consumption tax on all Goods and Services (GST) – to be collected at the point of sale by the provider of the service or the retailer. As was revealed in the 2005 Fair Tax hearing, for a full dollar for dollar replacement of the income tax revenue, it would require a tax of roughly 50 cents on the dollar.

Even though at this time, your industry is being targeted for the GST tax, with the full understanding of what’s behind this initiative, you should be able to recruit other industries to help put a stop to deceptive, stealth move to issue to coup de grace on the American economy and the American people.

If you need more information on any of this, I would be happy to provide it to you.”
