It’s been almost a whole month since I exposed the fact that both PCRM and PETA are providing front-page links on their websites to the American Dietetic Association, a beef/dairy industry front group funded by the National Dairy Council and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Assocation. When I discovered this, I wrote an email to PCRM and kindly asked them to remove the ADA link if they valued their credibility. Surprisingly, PCRM emailed me back and “appreciated” my concerns about the link to the ADA as it relates to PCRM’s vegetarian/vegan philosophy. However, just a couple days ago, I decided to visit PCRM’s website, and low and behold, the link is still there.

PCRM prides itself as a “vegan” advocacy group. Unfortunately, due to the fact that they are still shilling for a beef/dairy industry front on their front page, it is clear that mainstream vegetarian/vegan advocacy has been co-opted by the beef/dairy industries that vegetarian/vegan advocacy groups claim to be against. Or has the vegetarian/vegan movement ALWAYS been co-opted by the beef/dairy industries?

And many members of PETA are shilling for the American Dietetic Association. In fact, check out the search results for ADA and American Dietetic Association.

Obama administration to reintroduce Bush-era Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act

Foreign Ministry reports circulating in the Kremlin today are warning that an already explosive situation in the United States is about to get a whole lot worse as a new law put forth by President Obama is said capable of seeing up to 500,000 American citizens jailed for the crime of opposing their government.

Sparking the concern of Russian diplomats over the growing totalitarian bent of the Obama government is the planned reintroduction of what these reports call one of the most draconian laws ever introduced in a free society that is titled “The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act”.

First introduced in the US Congress in 2007 by Democratic Representative Jane Harmon, this new law passed the US House of Representatives by a secretive voice vote, but failed to pass the US Senate, after which it was believed dead until this past week when it was embraced by Obama who became the first American President to name his own citizens as a threat to his Nations security.

In what is called the National Security Strategy document, that is required of US Presidents by their Congress, that embraces the dictatorial ideals of the “Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act”, Obama has ordered his Federal police and intelligence forces to begin targeting Americans opposed to him and his radical socialist polices.

Comment: If anybody is the Big Business shill here, it’s the Huffington Post libtards who are in support of corporate (Verizon and Google) co-opted “net neutrality.” The fight for net neutrality was a hot issue in 2007 and 2008 during the Bush administration, with many people who ran on a “freedom” platform came out in support of net neutrality. I guess the only way Big Business could kill net neutrality was to co-opt the net neutrality movement, much like how the neocons co-opted the Tea Party movement and turned it into phony Republican “opposition.” So to all you Huffington Post phony liberals who think I’m the Big Business shill for not supporting corporate co-opted “net neutrality”: Take a look in the mirror and see what a Big Business shill looks like, for YOU are the Big Business shills, not me.

Following the release of Google and Verizon’scontroversial proposal on managing Internet traffic, which comes less than a week after the FCC abandoned efforts at a hammering out a compromise, Tea Party groups have taken a strong stance on the issue of net neutrality.

Specifically, they’re against it. The head of one Tea Party organization says she is concerned that the policy would increase government regulation and power, calling net neutrality one of many “assaults on individual liberties.”

As The Hill reports, “[a] coalition that included 35 Tea Party groups sent a letter to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on Wednesday urging the agency not to boost its authority over broadband providers through a controversial process known as reclassification.”

“Despite universal acknowledgement [sic] that Americans enjoy a free, open, and vibrant Internet, the FCC is relentlessly pursuing a massive regulatory regime that would stifle broadband expansion, create congestion, slow Internet speeds, jeopardize job retention and growth, and lead to higher prices for consumers,” the Tea Party groups’ letter states. It concludes, “The Internet has never been a regulated utility and we urge you to keep it that way by rejecting so-called “Net Neutrality” regulations on the Internet and the proposed Title II reclassification.”

Chairman of the Virginia Tea Party Patriot Federation Jamie Radtke told The Hill the tea party has been increasingly concerned with the issue of net neutrality. “It’s starting to get onto the radar now,” she said. “I think the clearest thing is it’s an affront to free speech and free markets.”

Yesterday at Whole Foods I saw a row of Truvia on the shelves… could NOT BELIEVE my eyes. I took a box to the customer service desk and told them about the major deception that Cargill has pulled with Truvia. I plan to follow up with email to Whole Foods corporate …. I urge you to all do the same. Someone at Whole Foods blew it — and we need to hammer away at them for putting what is essentially POISON on the shelves. One of the reasons I like to shop at Whole Foods is that I can be fairly sure they’re not stocking the bad stuff. When I see something like Truvia prominently displayed on the shelves, I have to wonder if they’ve been coopted by agri-business. Cargill does not belong in a store that bills itself as a ‘natural’ ‘organic’ market.

So much for Whole Foods being a TRUE “organic-only” supermarket.

By censoring my comments, MeMe Roth proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that she is an apologist for the aspartame/MSG industry.

Freespire will be officially dead in two weeks

According to this thread on the Freespire forum, the Freespire website and domain will expire on August 22, 2010, which at this time is a mere two weeks away. If Xandros doesn’t renew the website and domain and allows the Freespire website to go offline, then Freespire will be officially dead. Xandros cares more about kissing Microsoft’s ass and making insignificant OEM deals and killing off everything associated with Linspire, especially Freespire and CNR. The CNR Warehouse has been down for at least THREE MONTHS. Xandros, do you realize the money you could make from selling “Click N Buy” software on CNR? How are you going to make money on Linspire’s old cash cow CNR when you don’t even maintain the freakin’ site to begin with?! CNR was a golden opportunity for you to make money, and you managed to screw that up. Xandros, your management is BEYOND incompetent. Just put yourself out of your misery and either liquidate your company or sell to a rival. For all I care, you can sell your company to Microsoft. Cop shoots and kills dog for playing with other dogs in Park

Stunned dog owners and residents of a Severn neighborhood are shocked that authorities won’t be charging a federal police officer who shot and killed a Siberian husky Monday night at a community dog park.

Bear-Bear, a brown and white husky that was about 3 years old, was playing in the Quail Run dog park at about 6:30 p.m., running off leash inside the fenced-in area, when the officer and his wife arrived with a German shepherd, who was kept on a leash. When the dogs began to play roughly, the federal officer asked Bear-Bear’s guardian, his owner’s brother, to call off the dog. But before he could do anything, the officer pulled out a gun and shot Bear-Bear, according to the husky’s owner.

The American Government Once Intentionally Poisoned Certain Alcohol Supplies, Resulting in the Death of Over 10,000 American Citizens

Today I found out that in an effort to scare people away from drinking alcohol, the American government once poisoned certain alcohol supplies; this resulted in the death of over 10,000 American Citizens.

This, of course, was during Prohibition.  The government became frustrated with the fact that despite the manufacture, sale, and transportation of alcohol being banned, the number of people drinking alcoholic beverages was markedly higher than it was before Prohibition.  So to try to get people to stop drinking, the government decided to try a scare tactic.

One way bootleggers of this time made alcoholic beverages was to use denatured, industrial alcohol as the base.  Denaturing the alcohol is simply a process to make it undrinkable, usually by adding something that makes it taste or smell disgusting or will induce vomiting.  This was originally done (and is still done to this day) in order to allow companies to get around having to pay the high taxes associated with the manufacturing and sale of alcohol meant to be drunk.  Alcohol used industrially, for non-beverage applications, are denatured and thus, they don’t have to pay these taxes and so it is significantly cheaper, gallon for gallon.  Without this tax break, literally thousands of industrial products would become drastically more expensive than they currently are.

During prohibition, this denatured alcohol was often stolen from companies that made industrial alcohol used in various paints and solvents and the like.  The bootleggers would then have their own chemists whose job it was to make the alcohol palatable again, basically undoing the denaturing process or to “renature” the alcohol.

With an estimated 60 million gallons of industrial alcohol stolen annually in the 1920s to be later renatured and sold as drinkable alcohol, the government, under President Coolidge, decided to up the stakes and make some of the denaturing formulas lethal, instead of just designed to make the alcohol unpalatable.  To do this, they’d generally add things like methyl alcohol (the main denaturing chemical at 10% added, even today); other chemicals added are things such as kerosene, brucine, gasoline, benzene, cadmium, formaldehyde, chloroform, carbolic acid, acetone, and many others that were difficult for the bootlegger’s chemists to get out when they’d renature the alcohol.

After the first 100 or so people died shortly after the new denaturing process was released around Christmas, health officials were outraged and the news media picked up the story as intended.  Unfortunately, the government’s plan didn’t quite work from that point on.  It didn’t scare people away from drinking and rather had little to no effect on people’s consumption of alcohol; instead, the estimates are that it resulted in the deaths of over 10,000 people with a much larger number severely sickened and many blinded by the poisoning.
